Mindfulness for Life

Mindfulness for Life (MBCT for Life) has recently been developed by Oxford Mindfulness Centre as an evolution of the gold-standard MBCT course, and will now be offered as one of our courses for the general public. It offers mindfulness practices and cognitive-behavioural practices that are accessible to everyone.

This new course is designed to guide you, as a participant, in how to apply this learning in everyday life both to cope with the pressures and demands of everyday life but also to cultivate greater joy, compassion and equanimity. It offers you a different way of living that supports you in learning to work with difficulties but also to savour life, realise your potential and to flourish.

Mindfulness MBCT

Mindfulness MBCT (Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy) Course is the original evidenced-based course developed at the Oxford Mindfulness Centre and we will continue to offer this as one our courses for the general public. MBCT also teaches mindfulness practices and cognitive-behavioural practices that are accessible to everyone. As a skills-based course it offers tools that help you as a participant to become more familiar with the workings of your mind and body, to recognise unhelpful patterns of reacting to difficulties and distress in your life and to respond skilfully, rather than react, and to bring greater kindness to yourself.

In addition to its suitability as a course for the public it is also recommended by NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) as helpful in preventing recurrent depression, and research has shown MBCT to be effective for a range of physical and emotional problems such as pain and chronic fatigue.
